Marketing To Your Customers Through Email: A Guide

By Evelyn Parker

Email marketing usually makes people look away when someone starts talking about it. However, if you arm yourself with the necessary knowledge, it can be an invaluable tool for growing your business.

Before sending your email, take a step back and proofread it. Accuracy is important in all forms of correspondence, including emails and newsletters. Send yourself a test email before dispatching your messages to customers to ensure that the layout and formatting is correct. Test any links within the context of your email, so that you know they work.

Construct your email so that it sounds personal. When you are seen as a person, as opposed to a generic email, your customers will respond with their business. One way to reach out to your reader would be to include the reason they are receiving the email, if available.

If you wish to start email marketing, make sure you have the permission of your recipients to send them messages. If you don't, clients may leave or complain about your spamming.

Make sure you have the client permission before emailing them. Very often individuals consider unsolicited emails as junk mail and do not open them. Your ISP may take action against you as well because sending out lot of emails can be seen as spamming, which may be against their policies.

You should not send out emails unless you have the authorization to do so from your customers. If you do not do this, you will be accused of sending spam, and it may cause you to lose some customers.

Limit your marketing email messages to only one each week. It is likely that your customers receive many marketing and other messages each day. If you send too many emails, people will skip over them, and you won't reap the benefit of your hard work.

By now you should realize how to use email marketing to help achieve your business goals. Using this powerful advice can result in increased sales and increased profits for your business.
