By Sameep Shah

A website is a positive way to increase your sales, productivity and market value. It doesn't matter the size of your company, it's vital to be able to reach your costumers in a massive way and make it simple to them. There's nothing better than the internet to achieve this.

A website can elevate the prestige of a company and allows your clients to increase the level of trust toward your product and service. All of these can be accomplished if you have a good website.

For a webpage to guarantee quality, profitability and traffic should fulfil some basic requirements to be successful on the web.

- Utility; the content has to be useful. Your site may have everything else but if your content is not useful or related to the whole theme of your site the user will abandon the page within a few seconds of entering and will not visit your webpage again, at least not in some time. Remember, useful information related to your product or theme is rule number one.

-Amazing Content; this is a basic, and everyone knows it but not everyone quite understands it. Your content has to be useful and interesting, make your audience stay and always provide honest information.

-Quality in the design; first it has to look totally professional, with a neat design and logo. The colors have to match your company, if your website's potential visitors are teens and young people try to use hip and trendy colors that get this audience attention. You can have amazing content, the best articles or sell the best product in the market but if your design does not make the user want to stay and look through your page, you won't be able to sell anything.

-Simple Structure; everything has to be clear and concise. Bold the important words and make sure everything is well structured.

-Keep it short and fresh; try to be concise and use relevant information. Don't bore the user with things that are not relevant, use simple words, keep it short and interesting. Update your material, catalogs or whatever you have in your site.

-Relevant texts; the copy has to be clearly composed, the information has to be concise but have to be relevant and explain in few words what you have to say or what you are selling.

- Few clicks; this is fundamental, the quicker and easier the better.

-No pop-ups; avoid using pop-up windows, don't use flash unless you need to, and no unnecessary downloads, or registrations. Make sure you avoid all of this, the visitors will abandon your site quickly if you don't take care of these details; this can be the difference between a successful or disastrous website.

-Good links; make sure all the links you have in your webpage work correctly. Avoid pop-up windows and registration forms that are not needed, visitors complain about these things frequently, whenever the user is asked to register without necessity then he will rather abandon the page and look for other options.

-Information; its imperative you provide your contact information. This will make your company look professional, and the levels of trust of your potential clients increase. It's not the same to offer a contact number than just give an email address.

You should also remember that is vital you measure your results. No need to measure everything but, you'll be able to know what your visitor wants, what users are looking for, and how you can improve your weak points.

These are the basic characteristics every decent and good website should have. The internet can make you reach people all around the globe, expand your brand or your products to places that other way would be impossible, the internet is an amazing tool if you know how to use it in your favor.
